Summary: God’s Holy Spirit landed on Peter at Pentecost, and he preached boldly. That’s not what we’d call “feel good” preaching, yet as a result of Peter’s boldness, three thousand people were saved and baptized in one day.
The Gospel (Good News)
1) God loves us.
2) We have sinned.
3) Jesus died for us for our sins.
4) I need believe and decide to live for God.

Summary: Jesus called Levi to follow him. Levi left everything behind and followed Jesus. He held a banquet (party) for Jesus and he invited all his friends to come to meet Jesus.
Be a genuine friend and care for those who don’t know Jesus.

Be a genuine friend and work on a characteristic on the Good friend check list.

Summary: First thing Andrew did after he met Jesus is to share with his brother Simon Peter. Peter became one of Jesus’ disciples through his brother Andrew.
Invite friends and families to church especially if they don’t know Jesus. Just invite them and let God do the rest.

Summary: Peter and John healed the paralytic man in front of the temple courts.

They heal people as Jesus healed. Jesus gave us the authority to heal people. You have that same power to heal others. Jesus has given you the authority to heal people.

Summary: Jesus healed the paralytic when He saw their faith.

There are a few points you can take away from this story:
1) Asking God to heal on the behalf of your friend
2) Ask God in faith to heal. Know that when you bring the problem to Jesus. He will do the rest.
3) Continue to pray even though it doesn’t get answer right away.

Summary: Jesus healed Peter’s mother-in-law and he healed many other by casting out demons, blind, mute, deaf, sick, lepers and he healed all of them.

Jesus didn’t just come heal physical sickness but he brought healing to our soul and save us from sin.

Summary: A man with leprosy was healed by Jesus because he asked Jesus if he’s willing. Jesus touched the man and said “I am willing” and immediately the man was cured of his leprosy.

Jesus is willing to heal you. Ask and it will be given to you. Nothing is impossible for God. He may do it immediately how he did for the leper.

Seed = Word of God
1) Seed fell along the path, trampled on, the birds of the air ate it up - The ones who hear and then the devil comes and takes away the word from their hearts, so that they may not believe and be saved
2) Some fell on rock, when it came up, the plants withered because they had no moisture - Receive the word with joy when they hear it but they have no root. They believe for a while but in the time of testing they fall away
3) Seed fell among thorns, which grew up with it and choked the plants - As they go on their way they are choked by life’s worries, riches, and pleasures (entertainment), and they do not mature
4) Other seed fell on good soil. It came up and yielded a crop, a hundred times more than was sown

Bible Story:

Micah 5:2 – Micah wrote this prophecy about 700 years before Jesus was born! God knows the future and through the bible, he often tells us about what will happen
“But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah,
though you are small among the clans of Judah,
out of you will come for me
one who will be ruler over Israel,
whose origins are from of old,
from ancient times.”

Isaiah 53 – This chapter is about Jesus. It describes his death and burial and explains that Jesus died for our sins. Isaiah wrote these words about 700 years before Jesus was even born! Only God could know ahead of time how Jesus would die. Prophecies like this one prove that the Bible really is the Word of God.

Isaiah 7:14 (Matthew 1:22-23) – The word Immanuel is a Hebrew name that means God is with us. It is used here to refer eventually to Jesus who would come to earth and truly be “God with us”

Bible Story: 2 Timothy 3:16-17

God-breathed means inspired by God. God communicated his message through the thoughts and vocabulary of the human writers. God directed the writer even in the selection of his words so that God’s intent and purpose come through. It’s amazing to realize that God has given us in writing his thoughts in human language.

TEACHING:

The Scripture helps you learn information about God and how to follow Jesus (teaching).

How can you follow Jesus if you don’t know what he needs?
You say “I love Jesus...” but is your life reflect Jesus?
Well you need to read the bible to see what Jesus say and he teaches us through the bible

REBUKING:

Rebuke means to correct in a sharp way. It will help you discover things you are doing that you need to do differently (rebuking)

Did you ever read the bible or hear a sermon and it’s like speaking to you directly?
And you said that’s me! For instance, you were reading about forgiving and there’s someone in your life that was hard for you to forgive.

You can also correct others by warning the person.

CORRECTING:

It will help you restore and reestablish your foundation so you can be who you were designed to be (correcting) It helps you to turn away from Sin and turn back to God.

TRAINING IN RIGHTEOUSNESS:

It will help train and discipline you to honor God with your life and actions (training in righteousness). The more you follow the bible and put it into practice…

God wants the best for you and he loves you with an everlasting love. There is nothing you can do to make God love you more or make him love you less. But God loves you too much to leave you where you are. He wants you to become all that he designed you to become.

You have to ask God and give yourself to him. It is God’s will to change you into his likeness. That will happen as you put yourself in a situation to hear God’s Word and to put it into practice

Opening Question – How was your relationship with God in 2010?Here’s 3 categories
1) None at all – Didn’t give God a lot of thought
2) Inconsistent – Times you really seriously seek God. You read the bible. He convicts you and then you got side track by other things and then you stop reading and praying
3) Very good – Everyday you would read the bible, God speaks to you everyday, putting God first your day. When you do something wrong you confess your sin
Which one are you?
It’s so easy for us to get sidetrack.

“But first seek his Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.”Matthew 6:33

Bible Story: Genesis 4:1-5 Giving your best to God

Why did God accept Abel’s offering but not Cain’s offering?
It says Cain brought SOME of the fruits and Abel brought the best and some of the firstborn of his flock.
God desires us to give us his best and
Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed. -Mark 1:35
Take the first part of the day: Seek God
Read the bible and pray before you leave your house or school.
If you fail to plan…you plan to fail.
Have a plan what to read and what time and make it consistent

Conclusion:
If you want to be the same as you did in 2010 then do the same thing as last year but if you want something different and really be close

If you want another year to go by…do what you did.
If you want something you never had. Do what you have never done.
Next year in 2012 when someone ask you how was last year spiritually for you. You can answer I’ve never known God like I do now. I’ve never seen the power of God like I have.
When they ask you Why? You can answer them because I put him first in my life.

We have to Learn to be happy! How?!? Let’s take a look what the bible says:

What words are repeated in Matthew 5:1-12? Blessed

Some people translate Blessed as “Happy” or in the Old Testament it means you were approved by God.

When we are blessed by God, our happiness does not come from what we are going though, or by accident, or through a search, It coms be because we stand approved before the Creator of the universe.

You know what the world tell us? When we get what we want then we are happy. He teaches us that blessing is not linked to how much you have in this world.

Blessed people are those who realize they have nothing to bring to God, the poor in spirit. If you really discover that…you won’t be sad when the rain comes

3) Pray and respond what you read. Maybe something stood out to you. Act upon what you read. Don’t just read it but do it.

Bible Verse: : “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” –Matthew 11:28

Last week we talked about that Jesus said in John 15:5 “I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit;” In other words, if you stay close to God, you will bear much fruit that looks like God. You cannot bear godly fruit on your own. If you go to an apple tree, what do you expect? If you go to a grape vine, what do you expect? The same applies to God. If you stay connected to God, what can you expect?

Well the fruits that we will be talking about today is in Galatians 5:22-23. Many of you are familiar with this because we did a whole series on this so maybe this is a good review for you if forgot it or maybe this is new to you today.

So what are the fruit of the spirit that God is talking about? Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness, Gentleness, Self-Control.

What does these fruits look like?

Love – Loving people without expecting anything back. Unconditionally. You don’t love them because they did something for you.

Joy – Be joyful in all circumstances even when things are going bad but you know that God is still good

Peace – Having peace and not worry. Knowing God is in control. You do what you can in your own power and let God do the rest.

Patience – Being patient in everything.

Kindness – Friendly, regardless of how people treat you or even doing random act of kindness to people that you don’t know because you know they are God’s people.

Goodness – Being generous and kind to people

Faithfulness – Being faithful in everything. You are being trustworthy to your friends and not quitting on people.

Gentleness – Being gentle with your friends, maybe accepting for who they are even though they are a bit weird.

Self Control – Being able to control yourself to say certain things or certain people. Control yourself from not pleasing God. Being discipline

Let’s go back to my story how my mom cuts me fruit each night…I was wondering why she is doing that for me? Because she loves me and she wants the best for my health. In the same way, our heavenly father wants us to bear fruits because he wants the best for us. He loves us so much that we wants these fruits in our lives so that we can live a life. Stay connect with him so we can bear these fruits. Read the bible and spend time with him in prayer and through reading.

Bible Story

In our bible lesson today, Jesus told his disciples a story to teach them the importance of staying connected to him. Of course Jesus didn’t use a lamp to tell his story, because electricity hadn’t even been invented yet. Instead, Jesus used an example that his disciples would understand. He used the example of a vine. Vine is a plant with a lot of branches growing out from it. (picture) The branches have fruit on them. If it is a grapevine, the branches should have grapes on them.

Have you ever seen a branch that has been broken off a tree or a vice? What happens to it? That’s right, it withers up and dies. Can it ever have any fruit on it again? No it isn’t any good for anything except fire wood. And that’s what he said in verse 6, “If anyone does not remain in me, he is like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned.” (pictures)

Jesus said, “I am the vine and you are the braches. If you remain in me, you will have much fruit, but apart from me, you can do nothing.” Jesus wants us to produce a lot of fruit. We will talk about those fruit next week. Most of all, he wants us to love others as he has loved us.

Can we do that on our own? No way. Just as the lamp must be plugged in before its light can shine, and just as the branches must be connected to the vine before they can produce fruit, you and I must stay connected to Jesus to produce the good fruit that God expects of us.

The good news in verse 7: “If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be given to you.” – John 15:7

Verse 8 -10: When you become fruitful disciples of mine, my Father will be honored. I have loved you, just as my Father has loved me. So remain faithful to my love for you. If you obey me, I will keep loving you, just as my Father keeps loving me, because I have obeyed him.

In this coming Sunday's lesson we see Abraham's actions revealed his desire to lead a life that would please God. God's promises were to Abraham, but he shared his blessings with Lot. Instead of arguing, Abram found a solution. Abraham was not greedy, he graciously let his nephew, Lot, choose the land to inhabit. Abraham was thankful and honored God by building an Altar. He stayed on curse with God. As you read Genesis 13~19, you will find the differences between Lot and Abraham's priority of their lives. Even the purpose, and the motivation of inviting angels were different. Well, Lot got saved at the end, but that's because of Abraham.We can see Lot's hesitation between faith for God and the temptation of the world. He was once man of God, but he has gotten off the course. He missed out on everything that God has for him.

1. Training is part of the course – Weight training. I used to work out and I started out little by little. I didn’t start lifting big weights because I simply can’t. So there’s something call Benching. And that’s where all the muscular guys work out their chest. So I used to go and started out with 2 – 20s and the bar was 45 so that’s about 85lbs and I was about 160lbs at that time….and then I lift each week and I added 5 more on each side so I went from 85 to 95 to 105 to 115 and the max I ever did was 225lbs. I was pretty strong but that was because I kept working out. But in the same way God trains us little by little. By living right everyday. Maybe its not lying or cheating or stealing…he moves you to 20 lbs and then to honor your parents and he adds another 10lbs he teaches you how to stop peer pressure.

2. Obstacles are part of the course – running hurdles is like going over the obstacles in our lives. Obstacles are not there so that we can give up. Obstacles are there so that we can climb over it. If your course came without obstacles, you wouldn’t really need God. Ask God to help you overcome the obstacles

3. Finishing is part of the course – In Hebrews 12 it says “let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us.” Jesus came down from Heaven to earth cross the starting line and cross the finish line in order to help us start and finish the course God has for us. This is how you cross the finish line. You go through all the training God has for you. You do exactly what the bible tell you to do. Ask God for help when you face an obstacle. If you do all these things and complete the course God has for you, you will cross the finish line and meet God face to face. God will say “Well done my good and faithful servant” If you get off the course and live for yourself, God will say to you “Depart from me I don’t know you” finishing is part of the course. You have to decide which finish line you will cross. Is it the one God place at the end for you or the one you have place for yourself?

Bible Story:

We all think we know what’s best. We think we know what will make us happy and keep us satisfied. Most of the time, we are completely wrong. There was a man in the Bible who thought he knew what was best for himself. He thought he knew what would satisfy him.
His name was King Solomon.

King Solomon spent his whole life searching for things that would satisfy him. God told King Solomon not to marry women who worshiped other gods but he disobeyed God. He wanted to find out if there was anything that he could get, or feel or accomplished that would make him feel satisfied. He built really big houses with gardens, vineyards, and pools. After all that building and hard work, He said this at the end of his life.

“Meaningless, meaningless, Everything is MEANINGLESS”

It was meaningless for him. He had everything. Big houses did not satisfy him. He had thousands of servants. He had singers who sang for him. He had the best amazing selection of foods on his table everyday. He even found the most beautiful women he could find and he married them. He had 700 wives.

He had a whole lot of Gold and silver and precious things. He had the nicest clothes and most expensive jewelry in his treasury. This made him really famous. People from all over the world brought him expensive gifts. With all these things, the houses, the women, the gold, the servants, the gifts he said all these things were meaningless. He was mad on the inside because he tried to find happiness in things but nothing satisfied him. Solomon finally came to this conclusion:

The whole purpose of man is to fear God and obey his commands. – Ecc 12:13

He realized at the end of his life that only God can satisfy you. Maybe you’re not satisfied. Maybe you’ve tried different things that the world tells you to get, like nice clothes, video games and toys, but none of these things will satisfy you, but you first have to seek the kingdom of God. You have to want what God has for you more than anything

1. What you want is never enough

We try to fill ourselves with friends, money, music

2. What the devil wants is to destroy you

Devil wants to substitute things that destroys our life.

3. What God wants will last forever

Bible Story: 1 Kings 12

One of the ways we can seek God’s wisdom for our lives is by spending time with godly people. By listening to what they say and watching how they act, we can grow in wisdom. The bible says in Proverbs 13:20, “He who walks with the wise, grows wise.” There was a king in the Bible who really needed to walk with wise people. He was King Rehoboam.

The King rejected the godly wisdom and listened to his friends! One of the hardest things in life is not letting your friends always tell you what to do. The king’s friends thought it was more important that the people give him respect because he was tough, than it was to help them. The bible says, as a result of taking his friends’ bad advice, the people were so angry at him that his kingdom went to war.

One of the wisest things you can do it pick your friends carefully. If your friends get in trouble often, soon enough, you will too. If your friends don’t care about God, soon enough, neither will you. The people you hang out with will make or break you. King Rehoboam’s friends broke the entire kingdom. He looked in the wrong place for wisdom. The bible says in Job 12:13 “True wisdom and real power belong to God, from Him we learn to live.”

#1: God’s wisdom will guide you (Pray, Read, Listen to Godly people)

Lots of people on TV and in your neighborhood will tryto guide you and tell you how to live. The Bible tells us in Isaiah, “The Lord will guide you always”. I know three easy ways to seek God’s wisdom for your life so when facing a tough decision His wisdom will guide you. Pray, Read, and listen to Godly people

#2: God’s wisdom will protect you (Stop signs)

Last year in American over 40,000 people were killed in car accident. That’s 1 death every 12 minutes. The saddest thing is that most of these accidents happen because the drivers don’t pay attention to road signs.

Proverbs 4:6, “Do not ignore wisdom”. It will protect you as long as you don’t ignore it.

#3: God’s wisdom will show you the truth (X-Ray)

So there was a once a little boy he felt pain in his throat. A couple days later he complained that the pain was now in his stomach. Everyone had something to say about what was wrong. The mom thought it was some kind of food allergies. The dad thought it was just some weird flu virus. As the strange pain continues, the parents decided he needed to go to an expert. They took him to a doctor. He examine the boy closely, from what he could see nothing was wrong. Then the doctor took an x-ray of the child.

The problem was the nickel and the mom and dad were way off, but the x-ray helped us see deeper. It helped us see the true problem. God is an expert in our life. You need to seek God’s wisdom for your life because the wisdom of God helps you look a little deeper and see the problem with some of the things people tell you. The bible says in John 16:13, “The Holy Spirit will guide you in all truth.” The same way an x-ray helped us see that nickel. God’s wisdom will show you the truth, the truth about how we should live and who we should listen to. Seek God’s wisdom for your life.

Bible Verse: Joseph 37
Bible Story:

Point: Joseph had a lot of problems, but he did not quit on God.

Long story short…Joseph has 11 brothers but they were very jealous of him because their father Jacob would show favoritism to Joseph and love him the most. He even gave a special gift to him that his brothers were very very jealous of. He gave him this beautiful robe.

So one day his father sent Joseph to check on him but his brothers had evil plan to kill him…

Problem #1 - they strip him of his clothes and put him into a pit.
Problem #2 – They saw a group of Ismaelites and they decided to sell him instead of killing him
Problem #3 – And then they sold him as a slave to a man name Potiphar.

The Bible says that God was with Joseph and everything he did was a success. If I was Joseph, I would have said “If God was with me, why does He allow me to have all of these problems”? I probably would have quit on God.

Problem #4 - Potiphar’s wife tried to get Joseph to sin against God. Day after day she asked Joseph to sleep with her and Potiphar’s wife was angry and she told Potiphar a lie about Joseph saying he tried to sleep with me.

Problem #5 – Potiphar became angry and he sent Joseph to Pharaoh’s prison.

Problem after problem after problem. If anyone had a reason to quit, it should have been Joseph. Joseph gives us hope. In the midst of all the problem, Joseph did not quit on God. You will have problems. You will go through things that you don’t understand. You will have things happen to you and the only thing you can do is ask God, “Why?” It’s ok to ask God why. But it’s not ok to quit on him. Everyone has problems. Whenever problems come your way, do not quit on God. Learn how to trust him. But watch how the story ends…

Joseph’s problems lasted for 20 years. At the end of the 20 years. The Pharaoh of Egypt had a dream that no one could interpret. God gave Joseph the interpretation of that dream and Pharaoh made Joseph the governor of Egypt. As governor of Egypt, Joseph saved millions of people’s lives. I’m glad that Joseph did not quit on God because he had problems. Problems will come. I will have have problems. You will have problems – but don’t quit on God.

1. People can be a problem – People are going to be a pain to you sometimes but you just have to rise above that and pray for them. When people come against you, you don’t have to quit on God. There is another option – Pray for those people (Jar w/ Water – Rocks and Cork)

2. Circumstances can be a problem – There’s always circumstances that will come into our lives just like how Joseph faced with different circumstances but he continue to trust God. In the bible it encourages us to be thankful throughout every circumstance and every problem we will ever face. What are your circumstance? Are they overwhelming? Do you feel like quitting on God? Here’s some advice for you. Stop thinking about the circumstance and start giving thanks to God. Problems will come. Don’t quit on God

3. You can be a problem - Sometimes people have problems but those problems are not other people. Sometimes those problems are not circumstances. Sometimes the problem
is YOU! YOU have problems. Those problems are like a heavy load you carry.

Maybe one of your problems is YOU are jealous of other people. Maybe one of your problems is YOU can’t forgive your friend for not saving you a seat in class. Maybe one of your problems is YOU don’t have food at home. YOU don’t have money to buy new clothes. YOU don’t feel
love. YOU have all of these problems. YOU are overwhelmed but yet YOU carry these problems around like a heavy load on your back. God never meant for you to carry a load like this. Matthew 11: 28 Jesus says, “If you are tired from carrying heavy burdens, come to me and
I will give you rest”.

The Bible says, If YOU are tired from YOUR burdens or problems. YOU can give them to Jesus and Jesus will give YOU rest. He didn’t tell YOU to struggle with your problems until YOU eventually quit on God.

If there are problems in your life that makes YOU want to quit on God. Don’t look at the problem, look at YOU. God is asking YOU to bring Him every problem YOU have. The question I have to ask you is, “are you taking God every circumstance, every person and every problem in
your life”? If not, you will eventually quit on God because you are trying to handle your own problems. My friend, what will you do? Sometimes, the problem is not the problem, it’s YOU.
YOU don’t give it to God so YOU quit on Him. Today, I want to tell you that quitting is not your only option. Give your problems to God. Problems will come— Don’t quit on God.

Peter and Andrew got up to follow Jesus, as well as many others. Did that mean that they were all just following him like a shadow? No! It meant that they were going to learn from His ways and follow His way of life. They spent every day with Him and they saw everything He did. They saw the miracles He performed and the sick people He healed. They saw how He loved and cared for people. They saw His love for God. They saw how He gave up His life for sinners so they could have a relationship with God. When Jesus said, “Come follow me,” what He wanted them to follow was His way of life. He didn’t just want a bunch of people blindly following behind Him. Jesus showed the way for them to live and they were to follow His lead. It’s so important that you study your Bible and learn more about Jesus; about the way He talked to people, the way He dealt with the people that didn’t like Him. Study everything He said or did because He is the way and you need to follow His lead.

1. Follow His way of obedience. (By follow his word)
2. Follow His way of compassion. (By showing compassion to others)
3. Follow His way by using His power. (By depending on God’s power to overcome situations)

God doesn’t love us one day and then stop loving us the next day. He loves us unconditionally and that’s how he wants us to love other people. Today’s memory verse it says “Love never fails” That means unconditional. Love is not a feeling. God showed us what real love is. Real love is unconditional.
What is unconditional love mean? It means there is no condition when you love. Expecting nothing
Example: They don’t have to do anything to gain your love sometimes we often say “I’ll love you if you do this for me”
Today we are going to teach you that:
1) Love is an action
2) Love is seeing people the way God does
3) Love is a choice

The greatest act of love in history was when God loved us so much that He gave us his son Jesus to die for our sins. God didn’t just say He loved us. He showed us that he did.
Jesus didn’t go to those who follow the laws. But he went to love the sinners – the tax collectors, the prostitutes, the blind, the mute, the leopards, the crippled and so on. Those are the people who others find them hard to love.

It’s easy to love those who love you. Even sinners love those who loves them. You think Jesus would say OH GOOD JOB you love someone who loves you…well probably yes!
Jesus is saying how about if you lend someone something but you expect to get it back? Even sinners lend to sinners and expecting to get it back. –So basically he’s saying you expect them to show you love after you love them
But how about loving the ones who are hard to love?

Abraham believed. Let me explain how this works in your life. When you pray for your family and you hear God say, “I’m going to save your mom; I’m going to heal your grandmother; I’m going to give you food to eat;” You have to hold on to that promise and believe God with your entire heart. I don’t care how long it takes, you have to believe. Hold on to the promises of God. Abraham believed God and because he believed, he was set right before God. If you believe that God is who he says he is and that God will do what He says he will do, you will be set right before God. I’m only asking you to do one thing today. Hold on to the promises of God.

Bible Story: Nehemiah 2

God promises if you trust Him in every situation He will help you. Let me tell you about a man in the Bible who trusted God and God helped him. His name was Nehemiah. Nehemiah’s country Israel and another country Babylon were in a war. Nehemiah’s country lost and the King of Babylon took Nehemiah and all the people of Israel and made them slaves in Babylon. They destroyed and burned parts of Israel including the city of Jerusalem. The king had died and there was a new king in Babylon. The new king was willing to let Nehemiah and his people to go back to their country. He was setting them free. When Nehemiah went back, he saw that his country had been destroyed; including the wall that protects Jerusalem. God told Nehemiah to rebuild the wall. So he met with some of the other men who return to Jerusalem. So he told the men to let’s rebuild the wall. So they began to rebuild the walls but then some people came against them and began to make fun of Nehemiah and the men.

They said: What are they trying to do? They can’t make their city wall like new again. The stones are badly burned. If a fox walks on the wall it will fall! ::they laugh::

But Nehemiah and the men kept working on the wall. Everyday these men came against them

They said: What don’t you understand, you can’t rebuild the walls, they’ve been destroyed

The Israelites heard them but they did not stop, they kept on working and people came against them again.

They said: IT CANNOT BE DONE!

Right there Nehemiah is faced with a decision. Will he trust what those people are saying that it cannot be done and say, “Forget it, we cannot rebuild this wall”–or will he trust His God? Every day you face situations where you have to make a decision. Will you trust what people say or will you trust your God? Maybe when you’re at school one of your friends says, “I don’t understand why you pray, do you really think God will answer your prayers?” Right there you have to make a decision: Will you listen to what that person is saying or will you trust your God? God says His eyes are on you and He listens to your prayers.

Maybe someone has told you that you can’t be a Christian where you live. You’ll never make it, you can’t live for Jesus in your neighborhood. Will you trust what they say or will you trust your God who says, “You can do all
things through Christ who strengthens you”? It’s a decision you have to make every single day to trust God and when you trust God, He helps you in every situation. He will help you when people come against you. He will help you when people crush you with their words. He will help you when people say hurtful things to you. Nehemiah was faced with a decision: would he trust what those people were saying or would he trust his God?
After praying to the Lord, Nehemiah looked at his men and said this:

Nehemiah: “Don’t be afraid of the enemy! Remember the Lord, who is great, he will fight for us! He will help us!”

Everyone was sinning (full of violence)and God regret making man on earth and his heart has filled with pain. God was so angry that he decided to get rid of all the human race once and for all. But there was one man name Noah who was righteous in God’s eyes so he told him to build an ark. God told Noah to build an ark to put two animals of each kind in it. ”. An ark is a huge boat that can hold a lot of people. No boat of this size had ever been built. It had never rained on the earth while Noah lived. It made no sense to build a boat. Now, imagine what people were thinking about Noah. They were in the middle of the desert. There was no water ANYWHERE and it had NEVER rained before. What do you think people said to Noah? They probably laughed at him. They probably told him how stupid he was. They probably told Noah to stop buildingthe ark. A lot of you guys can relate to the situation Noah was probably in. Other kids laugh at you because you go to PIF Kids. You can obey them and stop or you can obey God and continue to come.
Noah made a good decision. He chose to obey God’s Word. He built the ark. After it was complete, he let all of the animals in. (Add sound effect of rain.) The rain came and the entire world was flooded. The only survivors were Noah, his family and the animals. If Noah had disobeyed God’s Word, the whole world would have died.

We need to build our foundation on Jesus Christ. We need to know his word, trust him, obey him because it is the best way for us to live. In the book of Matthew, Jesus was teaching the crowds about God, His Kingdom and how they
should live. He told them how to build their lives on a solid foundation. Jesus said, “Anyone who hears my words and obeys them is like a wise carpenter who built his house on the rock.” Life got hard for the wise man. Rain poured down,
the river flooded, a tornado hit—but nothing moved that house. It was fixed to the rock. Jesus went on to say, “Anyone who hears my words but does not obey them is like a foolish carpenter who built his house on the sandy beach. When a storm rolled in and the waves came up, it collapsed like a house of cards. The man who built his life on the solid foundation had to do two things. He had to hear God’s words and he also had to obey God’s word. You do not build your life on Jesus by hearing His Word and ignoring it. You build your life on Jesus by hearing His Word and obeying it.

God made you for a reason:

Nothing was made by accident. God made everything for a reason and it took him 6 days to make everything. The 6th day we learn that God made all of the animals on the land.

His creation was people: you and me. Of everything God made, he said that we are his “treasured possession.” God made each of us for a reason. The first person God made was Adam and God made Adam for a purpose; that purpose for Adam was to love God and to be loved by God. God wanted to have a personal relationship with Adam. He wanted Adam to know him. Just like God wanted Adam to know him, he wants you to know him. Long before he made the Earth, God decided that you would be focus of his love. You are not an accident. God knew you before your birth and he know you by name. when he made you, He made something great out of nothing. God made you for a reason.

This week, you have a great opportunity to make heaven very real to your kids. You can share what heaven looks like and what it feels like. From discussing streets of gold to gates of pearl, you'll find that many of your kids will be instantly riveted. Then take the lesson a step further and share about how there will be no more death, suffering, crying or pain. Let your kids know that not only will they see loved ones who have passed away, but they will also experience life like never before, vibrant and constant -for eternity.
One of kids' greatest fears is the fear of death, both for themselves and for loved ones. Be sensitive to their concerns and assure them that death has no hold over them because Jesus won the battle over sin and death when He died on the cross and rose again.
All the things that make us hurt or sad will be gone, and we'll get to see Jesus face to face.

We had an awesome time at our first ever PIF Kids Lock In
All the kids had a blast! They learned about Loving God and Loving others. God's greatest commandments. Our Key verse for the Lock in was:

‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ - Matthew 22:37-39

We continue to pray that the Kids would love God and love others.

We had a great time doing different activities together such as bowling, swimming, doing puzzles together.

During the last service, I ask the kids to talk to someone that they don't know. It was good to see them walk around and sat down to get to know each other. Hopefully this will get them to love each other and feel like they are part of one family in Christ.

Bible Story: Peter preaches to the Gentiles - Acts 10:9-43

God doesn't want us to judge people by it's cover. People judge other people based on the color of their skin, their wealth, their clothes or a lot of other things. It's call prejudice. Peter who was Jewish he had always been taught that he couldnt eat with anyone who wasn't Jewish, because by the Jewish law, they were considered unclean. God has other plans. Peter had a vision in which God told him that whatever he said was clean was clean. God didn't want Peter to follow the same rules that he'd followed up until then.

A man name Cornelius who wasn't Jewish wanted to meet with Peter. Peter ended up going to Cornelius's house, something a Jewish person normally wouldn't do. Peter said to them, “You know that we Jews are not allowed to have anything to do with other people. But God has shown me that he doesn’t think anyone is unclean or unfit. (verse 28) They were equal.

Cornelius was different from Peter because he wasn't Jewish, but he was still important to God. God had a plan for Peter to share the gospel with him. Why? Because God loved Cornelius and other non-Jewish people as much as He loved anyone else.

We shouldn't judge people because they look different from us. We should know that God loves them as much as He loves each of us and we should be ready to share Jesus with them and be their friend.

Stephen loved Jesus and knew many of Jesus' disciples. There were these leaders and they didn't like it when he teaches about Jesus' love. They argued with him but the Bible says the Holy Spirit gave Stephen great wisdom and he knew the perfect word to say, they couldn't stand against him. They were very upset and they got this woman to say she heard Stephen saying thing he never said. They're determine to stop him, no matter what the cost. He wasn't mad at all, it says in the bible he had a face of an angel. Stephen's good attitude didnt go over well with those guys. They became furious and decided to do something really bad. Stephen was filled with the Holy Spirit. He looked toward heaven, where he saw our glorious God and Jesus standing at his right side. Then Stephen said, “I see heaven open and the Son of Man standing at the right side of God!” When he told them this they thought he was lying. They were upset and dragged Stephen outside. They threw big rocks at Stephen and wanted to kill him. The last thing Stephen said was "Lord don't hold this against them." these guys were killing him just for teaching about Jesus' love and Stephen forgave them. Stephen died but it ended happily because he forgave those who persecuted him. He expected it and he was ready to love and forgive. He was able to do that because the Holy Spirit was living inside him.

Peter and John were going to the temple to pray and they saw a crippled beggar. He was crippled for his whole life. He would be in front of the temple everyday to beg for money. The beggar saw Peter and John and begged them for money. And Peter and John told the beggar "Look at us" and the beggar though they would give him money but Peter said they do not have any gold or silver but he said "In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk.” instantly the man's feet and ankles became strong.He jumped to his feet and began to walk. Then he went with them into the temple courts, walking and jumping, and praising God.When all the people saw him walking and praising God.

God gives us the authority in the name of Jesus. God expects us to use his name and take care of different situation. His name and his authority is real and available to everyone who has faith in him. These are some verses to think about as you are getting ready for this week's lesson:

I tell you for certain that if you have faith in me, you will do the same things that I am doing. You will do even greater things, now that I am going back to the Father. - John 14:12

They left him half dead and bloody. A Priest and a Levite walked by the Jew. The Samaritan, as he traveled came where the man was; when he saw him, he took pity on him, He went to him and bandaged his wounds, pouring on oil and wine. Then he put the man on his own donkey, took him to an inn and took care of him. The next day he took out two silver coins and gave them to the innkeeper. “Look after him,” he said and when I return, I will reimburse you for any extra expense you may have. He didn’t just leave him with the innkeeper but he said I WILL RETURN and REIMBURSE YOU for any Extra Expense you may have. Jesus calls us to "Go and do likewise"

Jesus said that because of their faith the man's sins were forgiven. Jesus healed him right there in front of everybody.
Imagine someone who couldn't walk all his life and being able to jump up and walk because Jesus has healed him. The friends who brought the lame had faith that Jesus was going to healed him. Why would they go through all that trouble of ripping out the roof and lower him down to Jesus because there was no room. Do we have faith like them? Do we really believe that Jesus could heal us or our family members or even our friends? Jesus heals us and makes us whole again just like how he healed the crippled man.

There are many times when people are afraid. The might be afraid of other people. Or maybe they fear that something bad might happen in the future. Perhaps they are afraid of natural disasters like storms. But we need to remember that Jesus calms our fears. He doesn't leave us to fight them alone. No, he's able to take them completely away.

When are people blessed? Those who depends only on him. God wants people who trust him and turn to him for help when they're in trouble. God will comfort those who are sad. God blesses people who don't think they're better than other people. People who want to please God more than anyone else even if it means they go hungry or thirsty. Jesus taught that God blesses those who are merciful. He wants people who are kind to others. God want people who love and serve him with their whole heart. He wants people who are just as kind and loving in what they think as they are in what they are in what they say or do.
God wants people who are peaceful instead of people who are always looking for a fight. God wants people who will do the right thing even if it means that they get into trouble. Jesus bless you when non christian gets angry at you because of him. You must have a good attitude. Every way to be blessed depends on you having a good attitude. You have to have a good attitude to rely on him, remain humble, obey him, be merciful to others, keep your hearts pure and make peace- even if it means other people get mad at you

Sin is anything that does not please God. Sin separates us from God. God is sad when we sin. So God sent his one and only son Jesus to die for us on the cross and to live a full life without sin.

Grace is God showing His love to you even though you don't deserve it. We can't earn God's grace. You do not deserve to be saved from sin and to have eternal life. But God showed His grace by saving you from sin's punishment when you trusted in Jesus as your Savior

BUT Jonah decided not to listen and RAN AWAY. and He ran to a ship. He was on the ship and thought he got away. He fell asleep in the below deck and fell asleep. God sent a big storm because of Jonah's disobedience. They all freaked out. Jonah admitted to the captain that it was his fault because he was running away from God. Jonah responded, "Throw me into the sea, and it will calm down" And they threw him in the water and Jonah was swallowed by a Giant Fish. Jonah cried to God for help. God heard Jonah's prayer and commanded the fish to spit Jonah back on the shore. The Big Fish obeyed. God told him to go to Nineveh again and Jonah obeyed

Message Summary: The army of Babylon raided Judah and took many people away as slave. Daniel was one of the slaves. In Babylon, people worshiped idols and they did not believe in the one true God Daniel served. Because Daniel was healthy, handsome, smart, wise and educated, he was chosen to serve the king. Daniel was given a new name, Belteshazzar, in honor of one of the Babylonian gods. Daniel didn't like the name, but there was nothing he could do about it. However, he determined in his hear that he would never worship Babylon's false gods. But there was still a problem.

Some of the foods eaten in Babylon were against God's health laws. Also, those foods may have been offered to idols before they were brought to people to eat. When Daniel's first request was denied, he had a different idea. After 10 days of eating vegetables and water, Daniel and his friends looked healthier than the young men who had been served food from the royal palace.

So Daniel was allowed to continue eating the right food, and God raised him up to be a special advisor for the king. It pays to live a clean life!

Message Summary: This bible story take place in the country of Babylon. The Israelites were living in Babylon because they had been defeated by the Babylonian army and taken away as slaves. They had lost almost everything- their homes, freedom, their country, many of their friends and relatives, and their place to worship God. Even though they were still alive, in a sense they were "dead" because of all that had happened to them.

God spoke to a prophet named Ezekiel and told him why the Israelites were in such terrible situation. They made the land unclean by the way they behaved. The Israelites behavior showed they were spiritually dead. They committed murder, they worshiped idols.

Dry bones representing the Israelites spiritual dryness. The way they are behaving. God promised that his spirit would give life back to the Israelites, so His spirit will give us life if we let him.

Instead of using our lips to gossip, lie or use bad language, God wants to cleanse our hearts and lips so that you can take his message to him.

Treat others the same way you want to be treated. God tells us to encourage each other daily as long as it is called today (Hebrews 3:13)

I'll be talking about how King Saul wants to kill David because he knew that God has chosen David to be the next King of Israel. Even in the midst of someone trying to murder him. He still praises God no matter what. He was in the desert of Judah during this Psalm on this earth. - Psalm 100:1

There was a man in the bible Praise God no matter what. I’m talking about David. King Saul knew that God has chosen David to be the next king of Israel, so Saul and his men began chasing David through the desert, trying to murder him. But David never stopped trusting and praising the Lord. Read Psalm 63:1. Just as David’s body became desperate for water as he hid in the desert so David’s soul was desperate to Worship God. Read Psalm 63:2 David thought back how things used to be when he was able to go into the sanctuary to worship the Lord. Even though David could not worship in the sanctuary now, he praised the Lord right where he was. We don’t have to praise God only at PIF Kids but we can praise God when we are at home or in school. Read Psalm 63:3-4 Even though David was in the middle of the desert eating whatever he could put his hands on, his focus was on God instead of food. Worshiping God was as exciting to him as it would be if he could escape the desert and eat a delicious meal. Psalm 63:6-7 David said he thought about God before he went to sleep and during the night. He knew God was protecting him, so he sang happy songs. Psalm 63:8 Kids wherever you go – even if it’s a lonely and dark desert- you can feel close to God and let him help you. We can worship God in every situation.

c. God gave the Israelites strict instructions for Passover.
d. God was ready to pass judgment on the people of Egypt because they were so evil. What would their punishment be? (Someone read Verse 12)
i. I will pass through Egypt and strike down every firstborn—both men and animals
e. God told them to put the blood of a lamb on their doorposts. On homes where he saw the blood, He said that judgment would pass over those families. This is why we call it Passover. The Israelite sons were saved by the blood of the lamb.
f. God gave very specific instructions for the Israelites. It was important that they obeyed his commands.
g. At midnight, the death angel came. All the firstborn sons of the Egyptians died. But all the Hebrews who had obeyed God were saved. The lamb’s blood protected them from God’s judgment

Question: Aren’t you glad we don’t have to kill a lamb and put it’s blood on the door of our houses? Did you know that Jesus was called the Lamb of God? He died on the cross, he was innocent. The Lamb of God didn’t do anything wrong, yet He chose to die for us! We are the one who have sinned and made mistakes. If we accept Jesus as our savior, We will never have to endure the punishment for our sins. Instead, we can enjoy eternal life with God in heaven.

Bible Lesson: Exodus 3:1-22

God called Moses to lead his people out of Egypt, out of slavery.
Moses feels that he is not the person to do it. He feels weak
But God said he will be with him.

God calls us to be his messenger and share the good news of Jesus Christ but we feel weak and scared sometimes to share. But God said he will be with us where ever we go. God will give us the strength to do!

This week's challenge: Tell someone about Jesus and bring them to church!

If you love God, he will turn your problems into answers. He will turn your hard times into good times. He is always at work for those who love him!

Bible Story – Genesis 37

Jacob has 12 sons and he loves his youngest son Joseph
Jacob gave Joseph a very very nice robe and his brothers was jealous and HATED Joseph
Joseph had a dream. They were tying up bundles of grain and suddenly my bundle stood up and your bundles all gathered around and bowed before mine. Their respond “you think you gonna rule over us and we will bow to you?” they hated Joseph more
Joseph had another dream. The sun, moon, and eleven stars bowed low before me
Jacob sent Joseph to check on his brothers
Joseph found his brothers but as he was coming they plan to kill him
“Lets kill him and throw him into well. We can tell our father A wild animal has eaten him. Then we’ll see what becomes his dreams”
When Rueben heard this, he suggest not to kill him. Why should we kill? Let’s just throw him into the well and he’ll die without us killing him. He said this so he can rescue him and bring him back to his father.
When Joseph arrived, his brother ripped off the robe he was wearing. Grabbed him and threw him into the well. Well was empty.
One of his brother Judah said to his brother, “What do we get for killing our brother? Let’s just sell him off to the Ishmaelite traders. After all he is our brother! So they pulled him out and sold him for 20 piece of silver
His brothers killed a young goat and dipped Joseph’s robe in its blood. And showed their father “isn’t this robe belong to Joseph?”
Father replies yes! That is his robe. A wild animal must have eaten him.
Joseph ended up getting sold to Egypt
Result: Long story short…Joseph became in charge of Egypt and there was a famine And his brothers came to him and bowed before him.

We may face hard times such as:
1. People making fun of you
2. People are hating you
3. Forgiving others who hurts you
4. Family Member is sick

Ask God for help and he will help you to grow and walk with you.

We must always forgive others!

Verse: “When people sin, you should forgive and comfort them, so they won’t give up in despair.” –2 Corinthians 2:7

We learned about how Jacob took Esau's birthright but in the midst of that Esau still forgave him.

It's easy for us to say "I forgive you" to people who didn't do anything to us. But what does it take for us to really forgive someone who sin against us? Forgive them as God forgave you.

God ask Abraham to sacrifice his son Issac to him. And without hesitation Abraham did what God said but God was just testing his faith. Angels appear to Abraham and told him not to hurt Issac.

Funny moment: Reenact the story and Billy was Issac and I was Abraham...I placed billy on the table and was going to sacrifice him. He got really scared :X REMIND ME to pick OLDER kids when I do these things! Could of traumatize him. Sorry Grace & Deacon Billy :P

Cute moment: Diane was doing arts and crafts and outta no where she started singing ONE WAY...Jesus....it was so cute! :)

I am designed by God. God made everything and he saw it was "good". But When God made us he saw it was VERY GOOD.

We are more special than anything that God ever created as he called us very good.

PIF Kids - 9/13/09 And God said... (Genesis 1:1-21)

My 2nd week here at PIF Kids, it's really fun! I really like it and excited to be here! So there are 2 newcomers this week :D They were actually from summer school and I absolutely love them! I actually saw them at the 4/14 conference and I happened to talk to their mom about PIF Kids ministry and they actually came. I think they will start coming every week now. Anyways I encourage you parents to spread the word to other parents to bring their children and maybe they will start going to PIF too because of their children. This could be a good way for evangelism.

Anyway, this week we talked about "God's word has power" from Genesis 1:1-21. God created everything by his word. Ex: "Let there be light" and there was light. Also gave the example of Jesus calming the storm "Be still". Even the ocean obeys Jesus. So this week I encourage them to really read the word because God's word has power and it will change their lives through his word.

PIF Kids - 9/6/09 Fruit of the Spirit

I'm so excited to be part of PIF Kids! I can't wait until I get to know all these kids. So excited to see what God is going to do in this ministry. I used to joke around to become a Pastor...becareful of what you say! haha I'm not used to kids calling me Pastor Alan or Pastor Wu. Which one sounds better by the way? Pastor Alan or Pastor Wu? I'm still deciding on what the Kids should call me. Maybe we should take a vote next sunday. haha.

²²But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, ²³gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. -Galatians 5:22-23
